Autobiography Originally from South Carolina, I first hit
the stage at the age of 16. By my early 20s, I was performing rock originals
with my band throughout the state. Next stop Atlanta, Georgia, playing Delta and Texas blues with the Famous Hoods at the now nationally-recognized Fat Matt's Rib Shack. Taking notice, my new friend Cubby, aka Scott
Davis, from the band Donkey, arranged an audition for me with Big
Mike Geier's Kingsized, a seven piece loungecore band and Elvis
tribute. It was an incredible five year experience playing with the most
talented unsung frontman in the biz. Together we earned critical
praise and notoriety throughout the United States' southern crescent.
On to Nashville, playing songwriter showcases with country artist, Greta Lee. I recorded drum tracks and wrote and produced music for the advertising industry, most notably Ford Motor Company. My band work in the late 1990s received multiple popularity awards for Best Country Artist (Greta Lee), Best Live Act, Best Swing Band, and Best Rockabilly or Surf Band (Kingsized) in Atlanta's Creative Loafing 1998 survey. This was regularly reflected in the record-breaking grosses and SROs at the local clubs.

Now living in Portland, Oregon, I perform and/or record with Gimme Some Lovin', the Bar Pilots, Billy D & the Hoodoos, Strawberry Roan, All Night Cowboys and Thrillride. I drummed and toured with Jennifer Lynn, an americana singer/songwriter. I am an alumnus of the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers, a marching drum corps dedicated to funky street beats and traditional (pre-DCI) cadences. I played a role for several years in Recycleman and the Dumpster Divers, a conservation-awareness band that performs at public schools and special events. I did a season with the Mt. Hood Pops Orchestra and six krazy years with Karaoke From Hell, the world's first and longest-running live-band-karaoke experience. My former bands include Joshua James and the Runaway Trains, Franco and the Stingers, Adame Kahl Axtell, the Blue Vein Miners, the Ward Stroud Band, Bar 12, Hoodoo Nation, and Jen and Tonic. I received the Cascade Blues Association Muddy award for Best New Band 2004 (Hoodoo Nation), a Muddy award nomination for Recording Of The Year 2006 (Ward Stroud Band), and another Muddy award nomination for best new act 2010 (Tommy Hogan Band). I am available for performance and studio work as well as private instruction.
